JANUARY 2025 ASTROLOGY HOROSCOPE FOR YOUR ZODIAC SIGN

Happy New Year! Every year, when I write my January forecasts, I am invigorated by the excitement and hope of what a fresh chapter will bring. However, one especially significant thing to note is that in many ways we are ensnared in a “vortex of the past” until mid-May. In January, we will certainly be feeling that slow pace. Yet, as I often mention, retrogrades are not here to punish us and we can use them for good. Returning to past situations, plans, and relationships—digging up old projects and hobbies—all of these ways can provide much happiness, nostalgia, or closure. Also, despite our desire to rush forward and launch new initiatives, use this time to really finetune your strategies as you navigate what you’d like to build in the year ahead. Please note: in this monthly forecast, I will address some of the outer planets and how they are affecting your zodiac sign, but I will not do so again in the other horoscopes for the year unless that planet is directly engaged in a significant way. For instance, several outer planets change zodiac signs this year, so I will mention them again then, and what the effect will be.

Before I dive into the astrological weather for the month, though, I want to take a moment to thank you for reading my work and supporting me. Jupiter, the planet of growth, will move through the heavens of Gemini from May 25, 2024, until June 9, 2025. During this period in time, Jupiter will bring expansion and joy to all of the areas that Gemini rules: communications (such as advertising, branding, marketing, podcasting, blogging, web design, and all industries connected to these areas and to a limited degree of publishing, but especially short-form content), the mind, travel (especially short-distance travel), academics and learning, and social media. However, it is also extremely important to note that Jupiter is weaker in this zodiac sign—known to be in its “detriment.” This means that Jupiter, while still granting us abilities to expand, will have a harder time distilling its energy to bring us rapid and expansive results. While it will not create challenges or “bad” scenarios for us, we may need to apply more effort to manifest results in our lives—particularly around any theme that Gemini rules. Gemini, as a zodiac sign, craves freedom and adventure, and we will, too, during this time—but we will need to be more intentional and focused rather than just spinning off in a whirlwind. If we do, we could find that our goals, energies, and plans dissipate without any staying power and we are consistently spinning our wheels, getting nowhere fast. On a positive note, those who are focused will be able to speak, learn, write, and connect more potently and build their networks. The pace of life will be livelier, upbeat, optimistic, and engaging. Plan for travel during this time and you could make dazzling memories. All those who work in Gemini-ruled businesses will thrive: writers, speakers, education, travel, communications, air-related industries, aeronautics, journalism, linguistics, tourism, and to a limited degree, politics. Jupiter enters its pre-shadow phase on July 8, 2024 at Gemini 11 degrees. Jupiter turns retrograde on October 9, 2024 until February 4, 205. Jupiter leaves post-shadow on April 30, 2025. Be sure to watch all of the dates near this time, as you’ll feel the change in motion quite noticeably.

Prepare for a major turning point to begin on March 7, 2023. Saturn, the mighty planet of karma and life lessons, will soar into the reefs of Pisces until May 24, 2025 and again from September 1, 2025 to February 13, 2026. Important learning curves and karmic transitions will take place in regards to all areas that Pisces rules: spirituality, creativity, psychology, mental health, prescriptions, prisons, the unconscious, and healing. Important information about fear, anxiety, and addictions will emerge in the period to come. Karma will come before us and we will find it is time to heal it and let it go. This will be a tremendous period for releasing anything that is holding us back from ascending to our highest good. False prophets, gurus, and secret societies will fall, as well as a streamlining of mainstream spirituality and religion. There will likely be a major overhaul in regards to the medical, psychological, and prison systems. Secrets hidden and disguised in the past thirty years could be aired out in our lives and on a global scale, too. There will be a great focus on how we rest, “escape reality,” and live in illusions or delusions. The key will be to face the truth rather than running away. Those who do so may suffer great losses and further build toxic karma that will need to be resolved in the future or in lives to come. Saturn enters pre-shadow on March 23, 2024, so pay attention to any things that begin to slow down or need revision at this time. On June 29, 2024, Saturn will turn retrograde. Be sure to watch what happens now, as it’ll be revisited when Saturn leaves post-shadow on February 18, 2025.

Pluto, the planet of rebirth, death, transformation, and domination, will orbit in Aquarius until March 8, 2043, at which point it will weave in and out of Aquarius and Pisces. We are officially entering the Age of Aquarius on more a profound level as Pluto inches ever closer to where the Great Conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn took place at the end of 2020. This will set off a chain reaction of events that will unfold over the coming two decades ahead. Pluto is a planet of intensity, destruction, transformation and rebirth. In a sense, Pluto is like a phoenix — burning down what does not work in order to rise again. Plutonian energy is very often malefic — bringing forth dramatic and painful experiences in order to shed light on truth and bring us incredibly profound growth. On one hand, Pluto can provide tremendous opportunities for renewal, new beginnings and spiritual and financial growth. However, the negative aspects of this mighty planet often lead to obsession, victimization, domination, power struggles, tyrannical control, war and death. All of the themes that Aquarius rules will experience upheaval during this time: social organization, social media, the Internet, humanitarianism, technology, equality and civil rights, socialism, space travel and exploration, and astrology. On January 10, 2025, Pluto will enter pre-shadow and begin to slow down (at 1 degrees Aquarius).

On January 11, 2025, the True Node, which ties to destiny and karmic events, moves into Pisces. It will remain here, revealing that we are further exploring the energies of the polarity of Virgo and Pisces. We will experience eclipses on this eclipse significantly until 2027. With the North Node being in Pisces, we will experience and intake or attract karmic, destined situations around Piscean themes: healing, mental health, mysticism, spirituality, closure, release, synthesis, seclusion, soulmates, past-life connections, intuition, psychic ability, creativity, addiction, or our “dream worlds.” This can be a fated time that dreams we’ve harbored come true on a karmic level. The South Node will be moving through Virgo, meaning that we are experiencing karmic lessons around this zodiac sign’s themes and releasing or purging them: employment situations, coworkers, pets, physical health situations (such as ailments), transitions around work and life balance or routines or responsibilities, or exercise or diet regimens.

Beginning November 3, 2024, the red planet will ascend the throne of Leo to remain until January 6, 2025. Mars burns especially bright here, as Leo’s fervent fuel ignites it so very well. During this time, we will become especially theatrical, passionate, and vivacious. We will be prone to dramatic expressions of who we are and what we want, as we are driven to be over the top. Our sex drive, charm, and confidence will soar and we will harness the strength to charge after our biggest goals. This period will be fantastic to pursue our romantic and creative desires, so prepare for summer heat! Our social lives will prosper and we will surely feel happier than recent times. Singles must be on the lookout for love, while anyone seeking a social life will see it flourish. Be bold. Be a star. Show the world what you’ve got and roar. Mars moves direct through Leo from November 4, 2024 to station retrograde on December 6, 2024, to move retrograde in Leo until January 6, 2024. Mars returns in a retrograde to Cancer on January 6, 2025 and stations direct in Cancer on February 23, 2025. Mars than proceeds direct in Cancer until April 18, 2025. During Mars retrograde in Leo there will be challenges, hurdles, and stagnation around the themes of Mars, such as passion, energy, sex, drive, ambition, and health. Karmic situations may arise and karmic connections may cross our paths. Exes and enemies could return. People and situations from the past will return to us, giving us an opportunity to review and reignite them or set them to rest once and for all. Mars retrograde tends to be especially challenging because we will feel more exhaustion and frustration across the board. All of the themes that Leo rules will also need to be reviewed or experience hurdles: true love and dating, courtship, passions and hobbies, sports, art and creative projects, games of chance, performance and expression, and children and fertility. When Mars retrogrades in Cancer, we will feel especially emotionally triggered, frustrated, emotional, and hypersensitive. All of the themes that Cancer rules will need to be reviewed or experience hurdles: home, family, real estate, our domestic lives, past-life connections, heritage and ancestry, traditions, or situations surrounding parents. Note that Mars will return in Leo from April to June 2025, so you may see a resurgence on the themes established now.

On November 2, 2024, Mercury enters Sagittarius until January 8, 2025. Our minds and communication will become impulsive, direct, and spontaneous. We will be drawn to viewing many different ideas and become fascinated with debate and discussion. We will feel especially fiery about what we believe and seek to persuade others to our points of view. We experienced a Mercury retrograde phase in November and December 2024 and finally Mercury leaves post-shadow on January 2, 2025. Our cosmic messenger ventures into Capricorn on January 8, 2025 until January 27, 2025, our minds will instead shift into a more methodical and practical perspective. Logic, order, and realism are favored, as opposed to earlier in the month when we may feel more optimistic and adventurous in our thoughts. Our cosmic messenger, Mercury, will enter Aquarius on January 27, 2025 until February 14, 2025. In Aquarius, our cosmic messenger helps our minds to be especially agile and interested in connecting with as many people as possible. We may feel quite social now and this is a great period to expand our personal and professional networks.

Venus will dash into Aquarius beginning on December 7, 2024 to remain until January 2, 2025. During this time, we will crave more freedom in our relationships and desire to express our love in unique and eccentric ways. We tend to be quite optimistic about love and be open to sharing it in a more universal and platonic fashion, as opposed to just with one person. Singles—no matter their zodiac sign—could suddenly become attracted to people outside of their normal “type” who will be exotic, eccentric, or highly independent. In general, we should feel more social and eager to connect with our fellow humans. Our goddess of pleasure, Venus, will move on January 2, 2025, submerging herself in these same seas of Pisces. This will bring tremendous blessings from Heaven above. Venus is known to be exalted in this Water Sign, which means that she can bring her greatest blessings to us when she is here. Our creative, romantic, and emotional natures will be heightened. We will become especially compassionate to those who we care for and will be more inclined to help others in need. This is a truly magnificent time for singles or those who are committed—so make romance, sensuality, and pleasure a priority. Magic could happen when you open your heart. Venus remains in Pisces until February 4, 2025. However, it’s important to note that we are approaching another karmic cycle: Venus retrograde. Venus will enter pre-shadow on January 28, 2025 (at 24 degrees Pisces), so pay attention to the situations that slow down, are requiring more effort, or that tie to love, beauty, or relationships. Electric Uranus will awaken on January 30, 2025 (at 23 degrees Taurus). Since 2018, the planet of revolution and liberation has predominantly been within the zodiac sign of Taurus. It will remain here until July 7, 2025. Then, it will go into Gemini. However, again, it will retrograde and return to Taurus from November 8, 2025 but again leave April 26, 2026 where it will not return for 84 years. Uranus is the planet of transformation, radical change, crisis, and freedom. Whenever it interacts with another planet, shocks and surprises are bound to happen, for better or worse. Even when Uranus causes things to feel chaotic or cause great pain, it always is forcing us to move forward and bring better institutions into creation. Uranus pushes humanity toward its greatest good and to find newfound ways to grow and solve the problems of the collective. When it resides within Taurus for a span of years, the things that Taurus rules will vastly be affected. The things we can expect to see mostly affected are global financial institutions, global currencies, and environmentalism. Expect further developments in these areas for the months to come. At the onset of the month, the sun will be gliding over the realm of Capricorn. The New Moon in Capricorn (9 degrees) that took place on December 30, 2024 will still be active in the first half of January. The situations, plans, and new beginnings launched now will be back on your mind near the full moon in Capricorn (18 degrees) on July 10, 2025. As this is a New Moon in Capricorn, this Earth sign’s energy will be infused into the cosmos. Capricorn is a zodiac sign that rules society and its structures, ambition, professional goals and authority figures. The best way to collectively use its vibration is to brainstorm your career goals for the year and start to take action to push matters in your favor. When it comes to astrological energy for this new moon, there are a few factors to consider. First and foremost, the new moon is sextile Saturn in an applying aspect. Saturn is also the planetary ruler of this lunation, which brings even more importance to this aspect. Stability, security, and a solid foundation will be infused into our lives. Our emotions and domestic lives should be faring very well. We will be patient, responsible, and committed in many ways personally and professionally. Plans built now do have more strength. However, Saturn will be square Mercury, which could bring some deflated thoughts or communication, and square Jupiter, causing us to require patience and to pivot to build toward our long-term goals or aspirations. The other planets are also in a rocky configuration, with Venus square Uranus, causing some turbulence around relationships if we are not feeling fulfilled, and Mars is opposite Pluto, bringing power struggles, and trine Neptune, infusing us with a deep desire to pursue our passions and emotions. With Mars so active at this time, it is important to note that he will be retrograde, which could be bringing up situations and relationships from the past.

The full moon in Cancer (24 degrees) takes place on January 13, 2025 at 2:27 PM (Pacific). The full moon in January is called the Wolf Moon. Cancer is the fourth zodiac sign on the wheel and aligns with domesticity, emotional security, our ancestors and families. The energy of this Water sign will energize our lives. It allows us to reflect on the past and better understand our foundations so we can build toward our greatest plans and endeavors. Without stability beneath our feet, we cannot reach to the stars. Our emotional centers and intuition will also be stimulated by this lunation, so pay attention to what your heart and spirit are telling you. When it comes to astrological aspects affecting this lunation, we will feel many sweet energies. On a happy note, this is an especially beautiful full moon and should affect our lives quite wonderfully. First and foremost, the full moon is exactly sextile Uranus, which should bring stimulating personal encounters and exciting events. You will feel more open to change. It’s an excellent time to try something new, especially in your domestic or personal life. Your intuition and instinct will be high and you could have flashes of insight. Chance encounters could lead to sudden attraction or new friendships. The full moon will be conjunct Mars, bringing us courage, enthusiasm, and initiative to chase our passionate desires. We can experience more charisma and sex appeal, but must be aware that our fiery emotions could lead us to be more emotionally impulsive or intense. The full moon is then trine Neptune, putting us in a sensitive, romantic, and imaginative mood. Distantly, the full moon will be opposite Pluto, which could fan the flames of intensity or deep emotions, but is also trine Saturn, which can aid us in stability if we breathe through the feisty energy and instead focus on positivity, instead.

On January 19, 2025, the Sun will soar into the skies of Aquarius for the month ahead. A New Moon in Aquarius (9 degrees) arrives on January 29, 2025 at 4:26 AM (Pacific). New Moons always bring fresh opportunities and new beginnings to your life. However, rather than just expecting something to manifest, it’s best to use a New Moon to your advantage and lay seeds and take action depending on how it falls in your natal chart as well as for your zodiac sign. As this is a New Moon in Aquarius (9 degrees), this Air sign’s vibes will be electrifying the cosmos! Aquarius is the zodiac sign that rules friendships, communities, volunteering and group activities. It is also an especially optimistic sign, encouraging us to get involved and build a tribe that will support us as we push toward our long-term goals. You will likely be feeling a bit more independent and eager to change up your routine. When it comes to astrological aspects that will “color” this period in time, we have many delightful ones! First and foremost, the full moon is exactly trine Jupiter. This will bring good feelings, happiness, emotional growth, and self-understanding. It can also add weight to our decisions now and in the six months ahead. Even better news is that Uranus, the planetary ruler of this lunation, is gorgeously aligned in a sextile with both Venus and Mars. This can bring exciting and stimulating experiences to us, especially when it comes to our personal, intimate, or romantic lives. Step out of your comfort zone, do something a bit adventurous, and you could meet someone who enchants you if single or enjoy exhilarating passion with those who you care for. The actions that are taken near this time will likely manifest near the Full Moon in Aquarius (17 degrees) on August 9, 2025.

Important dates to remember in January 2025 for love are the 12, 13, 17, 18, 23, 25, 26, 30. Significant moments to plan for success are the 4, 21, 28, 30. However, days that could be a bit more challenging are the 2, 6, 14, 15, 21. ARIES

Welcome in a new year, Aries.

Saturn, planet of life lessons, is venturing through your sector of karma and rest until May 24, 2025. This means that you will face all of the decisions and karma you’ve built in your life thus far—especially in the past thirty years. Positive karma could now be paid off—but dark actions, especially in the form of hidden enemies and anxieties, could be here to haunt you. You may also be especially reflective and focused on understanding your soul, your past, and your spiritual strength, as well.

On January 30, 2025, Uranus, planet of change, will be moving direct in your income and finances sector. This will give you cutting-edge ideas on managing your money and generating new streams of it. Think outside of the box because you can not only liberate yourself from debts, but also amass much more if you enact a creative approach in cultivating it. Also, you have been noticing that your personal values are changing, and you could notice that you are seeing unique ones emerge within your psyche. Next, let’s peek at Mars. Mars will retrograde on December 6 and continue to be asleep until February 23, 2025. This means that all things that Mars rules will be weakened and harder to come by. Mar rules: energy and focus, health and stamina, competition and drive, anger and war, sex and passion. When Mars is retrograde, this is never an ideal time to launch new plans or endeavors, start new relationships, or even “become official” or get married. The experiences and situations that emerge now may still need to be reviewed and untangled until Mars regains full strength on May 2, 2025. In particular, prior to January 6, 2025, you could find frustration, challenges, or a lack of energy around the following themes: true love and dating, courtship, fertility and children, hobbies or sports, or creativity and expression. Now, let’s last look at the key lunations that January will bring to you. We have three important ones. At the onset of the month, we will still feel the energy of the new moon from December 30, 2024, which will open doors to you in the first half of the month. Then, mid-month, a full moon appears on January 13, 2025. This should bring important news, a turning point, a culmination, or an ending in the week that surrounds it. Last, we end the month with a new moon on January 29, which will still be highly active for the beginning of January. Let’s see how you’ll be affected!

First, there’s a great deal of energy focused on your professional life, public recognition, and legacy due to the new moon that appeared and opened a doorway for you after December 30, 2024. This is a time to look for a better job, launch a big project, seek the grace of an authority figure, or reach toward your ambitions. Something new is coming your way, but if you are strategic, you could find great things are on the table.

Next to mention his month will be the arrival of a full moon on January 13, 2025. This will bring a transition around home, family, or your domestic life. Some of you could be moving, renovating, relocating, or stepping in to help a family member. It could be as simple of a roommate moving in or out, getting a gorgeous new piece of furniture or décor, or even signing a new lease. You could feel a bit triggered and emotional near this time, as well, so do your best to rest, recharge, and listen to your intuition. No matter what the universe throws at you, though, have faith that you are being led toward brighter and further horizons.

Joy, laughter, and blessings will be drawn your way due to new moon in your fulfillment zone that opens a doorway to you in the weeks after January 29, 2025. There are many ways this can affect you. First, you may end up being far more social as friends, followers, and communities wish to connect with you. Dating, through online means or through your network, could be auspicious. This is also a great time to ask for favors from people, especially if they’re tied to your innermost hopes, aspirations, and dreams. Someone may provide the key to a door that has been locked. Volunteering, getting involved, and simply following your bliss will all be wonderful now.

TAURUS

Embrace a fresh start, Taurus.

Pluto, the planet of intensity, has moved back into your professional sphere, where it will be for nearly two decades. This could rapidly cause you to skyrocket to greater levels of fame, power, authority, or glory. On the other hand, though, it could cause you to decide it’s time to change your ambitions, image, or legacy altogether because they aren’t working for you any longer. Consider the mark you’d like to leave on the world.

Money matters are spot lit and you’re ready to build your wealth for many reasons. From May 25, 2024 until June 9, 2025, Jupiter will grace your wealth zone. This is magnificent because it will likely attract to you a raise, far greater streams of income, a new job, or many lucrative clients. Demand for your services will surge and you should be able to start to add more wealth to your accounts. However, remember that while the universe will do its best to aid you in this arena, you must take action, know your worth, and try to harness your skills to bring in more abundance. If you simply sit back and expect money to rain from the sky, that is much less likely to bring you what you desire. However, Jupiter will be weakened until February 2025. Saturn, planet of karma, will bring his lessons and learning curves to your long-term goals, hopes, dreams, and aspirations until May 24, 2025. You will refine your list of plans and let go of the ones that are fleeting or no longer fulfill you. Your social life may also begin to slim down, as you value true friends rather than just a wide network.

Uranus, planet of change, is in your zodiac Sign, bringing you radiance and brilliance in ways beyond any other zodiac sign. This can be very difficult for you because you are not a zodiac sign that embraces change well. You like things to stay the same and you appreciate your comfort zone. However, Uranus is telling you to embrace daring ideas and release all patterns that no longer serve you. Many Taurus will become the most famous people on Earth from now until 2026 because you will be taking on a courageous and radical approach to life. Do not settle for “just good enough” or for relationships and patterns that limit you. Fly free and break the cage. Express yourself vividly, and the world will stand in awe of you.
