THE TRUTH OF TAYLOR SWIFT’S NATAL CHART
Taylor Swift’s natal chart reveals a great deal about her personality, lifestyle, and path in life. Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in West Reading, Pennsylvania. In recent years, there have been multiple conflicting sources regarding her time of birth, and with very little confidence in the time listed, we cannot truly assess her Ascendant and by extension her natal chart’s houses.
(As a side note, when I work personally with celebrities, I so often find that the times listed online are actually very different than the ones they give me personally. This is why for the greatest accuracy, we will specifically hone in on Taylor Swift’s date and place of birth.)
Taylor Swift’s Big Three
When it comes to Taylor Swift’s “Big Three,” we would usually look at her Sun sign, Moon sign, and Rising Sign/Ascendant.
Taylor Swift’s Sun sign is Sagittarius. This is a Fire sign and ties to her innate ego and personality. This means she is an eternal sojourner: craving passion, new experiences, spontaneity, and everything that life has to offer her. She has innate creativity and a rebellious edge that allows her to go after what she wants—even if other people don’t agree. Sagittarius people tend to hate being caged, as can be seen by other famous stars such as Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and Nicki Minaj. People with Sagittarius Suns are often slightly eccentric and are excellent entertainers.
Taylor Swift’s Moon sign is Cancer. The Moon sign is tied to our inner emotional life and mirrors our souls. This means she has a deeply sensitive heart and takes things incredibly personally. She invests greatly in her relationships and has a high level of intuition and empathy. It also takes her quite some time to move on and she has a strong protective and nurturing side to her.
While I would normally focus on someone’s Rising Sign/Ascendant as being a part of her Big Three, current times online say she is a Scorpio Rising. A few years ago, her listed birth time instead said she was a Capricorn Rising. Without a true confirmed time, there isn’t a point in including her “possible” Rising Sign here. Instead, I’d like to point out that she has many planets in Capricorn, regardless of what her Ascendant is. Her Mercury, Uranus, Neptune, and Saturn are all in Capricorn, meaning that this zodiac sign does color aspects of her personality, particularly in regards to how she builds her life, beliefs, and long-term plans. There is a traditional edge to her that she taps into, even if so much within her chart speaks of reinvention, freedom, and progressive ideas.
Taylor Swift’s Personal Planets
Taylor Swift’s Mercury sign is Capricorn. This means that when it comes to her communication style, she prefers structure, logic, and rhythm (as can be seen beautifully illustrated in her lyrics). She likes to be productive in her communications and methodical in what she applies herself to. However, this means that Taylor can be a bit judgmental and critical, too, especially when she feels she has crystal-clear thoughts of her own and others disagree.
Taylor Swift’s Venus sign is Aquarius. This relates to her romantic side, as well as her values, aesthetics, and sense of artistry. To her, freedom is a love language and she needs that to be expressed in her relationships. While she may initially not be focused on commitment and instead wants to “eye her connections up” first, perhaps in the sense of friendship, she can better decide if she is matched with the right person. Her friendships are extremely important to her, and she values people who are quirky, rebellious, free-spirited, and creative.
Taylor Swift’s Mars sign is Scorpio. This ties to her sex drive and how she asserts herself toward power. This is a powerful placement because Mars is a co-ruler and traditional ruler of Scorpio—meaning that she can exhibit her passion and aggression in precise and strategic ways. Taylor knows how to strike for power moves instinctually and is “all or nothing” when it comes to getting who—or what—she wants. On a good day, Taylor is a powerful ally; but on a bad day, she is an extremely deadly enemy. The thing about her is that she’ll often cut where it hurts, unbeknownst to people because she’ll do it behind-the-scenes.
Taylor Swift’s Natal Chart Houses
Unfortunately, as I had mentioned before, due to her unconfirmed birth time, we can’t truly assess her exact houses in her natal chart. However, when it comes to the destiny of her music and fame, I want to point out that her North Node is in Aquarius.
The North Node is synonymous with our life direction and points to key lessons we are drawn to learning in this particular lifetime. With a North Node in Aquarius, Taylor has a visionary heart and can be a leader for people collectively. Often times people with this placement have a rebellious streak but are drawn to progressive plans that push humanity forward toward the greater good. She makes her own rules and craves to proclaim her ideas authentically.
Other Important Natal Chart Aspects
When spotlighting spectacular astrological aspects within Taylor’s chart, there are many to choose from!
First off, the Sun (her life force) is sextile (harmoniously linked) to her North Node (ultimate destiny). People with this are often born with special privileges that propel them toward success. On top of that, she has a natural luck when pursuing what she wants in this lifetime. She was easily able to mingle with powerful people who have lifted her up and opened doors for her. Things just seem to “click” for her, leading her to be the center of attention.
Next, there are many planetary interplays between planets in Cancer (Jupiter, Moon) with stars in Capricorn (Mercury, Neptune, etc). Her Mercury (mind, communication) is conjunct (in the same place in the sky) as her Neptune (imagination, creativity, spirituality). She was born with innate brilliance for the arts and music.
Jupiter (planet of luck) is also opposite (directly linked with) her Mercury (mind, communication) and Neptune (imagination, creativity, spirituality), as well. This means luck, blessings, and fortune smile upon all of these particular talents for her. With Jupiter, he expands these skills exponentially.
Also, Taylor’s Jupiter is in Cancer—the zodiac sign of its exaltation. She has a heightened awareness of how to tap into her heart and emotions and utilize this luck to her greatest benefit at all points in time.
Last to note is that Taylor’s natal Jupiter (luck) is conjunct her Moon (emotions, soul). This gives her an overall happy personality, aiding her popularity with many admirers—a powerful position for fame! Her charm and charisma are authentic, which is why we are all such Taylor fans.
Important Transits and Predictions for Taylor Swift
When it comes to Taylor’s life in particular, she has been experiencing eclipses (powerful turning points in her destiny) in her Sun sign of Sagittarius since June 2020. This has rapidly propelled her to look at her past and “shake it off,” so to speak. She doesn’t want to be just what people expect her to be—she wants to be true to her roots, which is especially important because the South Node is the one that is in Sagittarius. The South Node ties to “returning” and “releasing” and “letting go” anything that isn’t serving the North Node (our collective higher purpose at this time). Taylor will have one final eclipse in Sagittarius—a Solar Eclipse—in December 2021. This means that even more exciting new beginnings will be presented to her and she will be eager to show the world this new, improved, but ultimately “authentic to herself” version that she is now.
Mighty Saturn (planet of karma) has been in her solar sector of communications since the beginning of 2021 and will continue to be there until March 2023. On one hand, she is figuring out how to rebrand herself for the long-term, likely making important adjustments to all her marketing and advertising, and going to find that many important life lessons come to her regarding her ideas—some people will not like what she has to say, no matter how much it is coming from the heart.
Last to mention is that benevolent Jupiter will dance into her solar sector of true love, creativity, and fertility from May 10, 2022 to October 28, 2022. It will return once again on December 20, 2022 to remain until May 16, 2023. While on one hand, this could denote a significant turning point in true love (engagement) or fertility (a child!), my professional assessment instead says that she will finally be experiencing a true lasting soul love—one that is equally exciting, passionate, adventurous, yet stable—that helps her to debut some of her most brilliant creative work within the upcoming decade. She has so much happiness ahead of her—and I’m excited to be the one to bear the news.
