Astrology Breakdown of the Los Angeles Fires

I did a quick look at Los Angeles’s birth chart and I noticed a few key factors at this time.
First and foremost, Los Angeles has a Virgo Sun and it is (and has been) opposed by Saturn, the planet of hardship. This is a very weakening energy and will still be felt on a karmic level until we get closer to the end of 2025.
Also, Los Angeles has its Saturn in Sagittarius natively, and this is being squared right now by transiting Saturn, too, revealing more challenges, hurdles, and rocky situations being thrust upon it from external influences.
On a separate note, Los Angeles has a Libra Rising in very late degrees and Mars, planet of fire and war, is exactly square to LA’s Ascendant — and this square happens 3 times (once at the end of November/beginning December 2024, now, as well as once again near mid-April 2025).
During all three of these squares, Mars is also opposite transiting Pluto, the planet of destruction but also rebirth. This creates dramatic, intense, and often overwhelming circumstances and with both planets holding a tie to fire, this can be seen vividly in the world of Los Angeles at this time. Pluto’s influence also suggests shady workings behind the scenes that may have sought to further the chaos as well as had hidden motivations of their own to strike against Los Angeles, and they could be very malevolent and powerful enemies seeking ruin and destruction.
Last to mention in the present is that this full moon on January 13 is also square Los Angeles’s Ascendant, creating more tension, heightened emotions, and a major focus on the people, emotional intensity, and a need for engagement with the public for support. Cancer is also the zodiac sign that rules “the home, family, and domesticity,” which is especially affected at this time.
With Mars retrograde at this time, it often triggers heightened intensity around Mars energy (which is fire) as well as enemies, competitors, power struggles, and karma around war.
When looking forward, I’ve also gleaned some insight.
Uranus, planet of chaos and the future, is also going back and forth from Los Angeles’s 7th House (partnership and relationship with the public) and 8th House (death, rebirth, assets, and wealth). This reveals dramatic shifts in 2024 to 2026 around shaking up these themes. While Los Angeles will see some sudden shifts around wealth in upcoming years, it is likely going to experience a boom in years to come, especially around technology, AI, crypto, space, and emerging technologies.
When Jupiter, planet of luck, enters Los Angeles’s 10th House in 2026 and 2027, the city will see another great time of global attention and glory.
