JANUARY 2022 ASTROLOGY HOROSCOPE FOR YOUR ZODIAC SIGN

A new year is upon us—with its own set of bright opportunities and heavy lessons. On one hand, 2022 is sure to be sweeter for many reasons, particularly in the first half, but the second will be riddled with karmic lessons that cause all of our lives to shift. January begins with a slower pace, as we will be in the midst of nostalgia from Venus Retrograde and preparing for the arrival of Mercury Retrograde. With such a large focus on the past and reviewing what has led us to be where we are now, it is important to recognize the paths we used to tread before we embark on a whole new journey. Often times, I look at January as an inspiring new adventure that we are setting upon, but with so much planetary energy encouraging us to turn within and reflect, it shows that some things we previously thought were done are not—whether it be projects, situations, or relationships. 2022 will not feel like we’re starting a whole new book, but moreso that we are beginning part three of a trilogy. The transformative effects of 2020 echoed into the ramifications of 2021. Now, as we understand the pressures of this new world, we will continue to adjust as we move about and find our new sense of stability and security. That doesn’t mean 2022 will not be filled with magic, blessings, and happiness—it will be. But we are still not entirely out of the storm as our new world emerges around us. Later in the decade we will find we’ve hit newfound prosperity once again, so keep pushing forward and you will find the hope that you seek. Remember: no darkness can extinguish light altogether. Even just one candle or one star can light up the night.

Prepare for cosmic blessings as Jupiter, the Great Benefic, soars into the tropical seas of Pisces from December 28, 2021 to remain until May 10, 2022. Then, he will parade on into Aries for several months, only to revisit the reefs of Pisces from October 28, 2022 until December 20, 2022. Jupiter is a co-ruler of Pisces, which means that when it tours here, we will enter a cosmic portal that aids in the manifestation of our desires. All areas that Pisces rules will see a double dose of luck and fortune worldwide: spirituality, creativity, the unconscious, and healing. Pisces holds ties to romance and fantasy, so this could be quite a lyrical and magical time no matter if single or attached. Soulmate connections will cross every person’s path and true love will occur more easily now. Karma will come before us and we will find it is time to heal it and let it go. This will be a tremendous period for releasing anything that is holding us back from ascending to our highest good. Life will feel more optimistic, joyous, and free for the first time in quite awhile. Open your heart and dive into the deep oceans of your spirit.

At the turn of the New Year, we may still feel one of the major planetary challenges that began in 2021. Saturn in Aquarius has collided with Uranus in Taurus during that time and will slightly overshadow 2022, too. We will crave change and freedom, but find that there is immense resistance to our desires. This can manifest in the form of conflicts with other people or a general sense of stubborn frustration. With these planets in Fixed signs, no one will want to budge. However, with Saturn being direct but Uranus being retrograde at this time, we may find that our sense of rebellion is silenced by our restrictions. The most friction between them will be in October 2022. Once it passes, it will not be felt again until 2043.

Mars, the planet of passion, sex, and drive, will continue to blaze a trail through the realm of Sagittarius from December 13, 2021 until January 24, 2022. The energy of Mars will radiate especially brightly here, as we are eager for adventure, new horizons, and to conquest the world. Passion and enthusiasm will invigorate us, as we are motivated by our ideals and a thirst for change, spontaneity, and knowledge. Optimism will fill our veins—but we may be more prone to be scattered and lack focus. Staying in a routine will make us feel restless at this time, so we will do everything we can to break out of our cages.

Our goddess planet of love and beauty continues to dance on the cliffs and mountaintops of Capricorn from now until March 7, 2022! She will spend a great deal of time in Capricorn because she turned retrograde from December 19, 2021 until January 29, 2022, causing a major return of the past. We can find the right people who may help our professional goals. This will be a sensual time in relationships, as we wish to be slow and steady and build connections for the long-term. Creative talents are also enhanced, especially those where we are focused on structure and form. Use this time to make serious plans with lovers or else look for someone who is practical, reliable, and wise. However, Venus Retrograde will cause us to review all of these areas—especially regarding how we’ve approached them in the past eight years. Exes, old friends, and soulmate connections often return to us during Venus Retrograde, so if there’s anyone special that you’d like peace, closure, or a reunion with—the time could soon be at hand.

Mercury continues to prance through Capricorn until the 2nd. Our minds will shift into a more methodical and practical perspective at the outset of the year. Logic, order, and realism are favored. Our cosmic messenger, Mercury, will enter Aquarius on the 2nd, where he will spend a significant amount of time—until March 9th. This is because he will experience a retrograde phase in this zodiac sign from January 14th until February 3rd. However, we will begin to feel this energy approaching and the general slower pace begin to creep in as early New Years. It is important to try to tie up matters in the first half of the month or buy electronics or sign contracts then. In Aquarius, our cosmic messenger helps our minds to be especially agile and interested in connecting with as many people as possible. We may feel quite social now and this is a great period to expand our personal and professional networks. However, during the retrograde, expect the typical delays and miscommunications to take place. Mercury will briefly revisit Capricorn from January 25, 2022 until he stations direct on February 3, 2022, and finally leaves on February 14, 2022. A New Moon in Capricorn (12 degrees) arrives on January 2, 2022. New Moons open a doorway in our lives and often bring new opportunities to our path. With this luminary taking place in this Earth sign, we will have a chance to assess our long-term goals and ambitions and determine a strategy to reach them. New Moons give you the impetus to take action, and with Capricorn holding ties to professional success and the legacies we hope to leave, this would be an excellent time to assess these areas. Use the week that follows this luminary for your greatest plans and manifestations. The actions you take now will be directly connected to what occurs near July 13, 2022.

A Full Moon in Cancer (27 degrees) arrives on January 17, 2021. The energy of this luminary will resonate for two days prior and four days after. This will be a deeply nostalgic time, as we reflect back on everything that has occurred this year. Our feelings will be intensified—not only because it is a Full Moon, but also because Cancer rules our deep emotional stability and security. This will also be a time when our roots must be faced and we wish to pull closer to our families—whether blood or chosen. We may feel the need to be at home or to nest with those who we love.

Electric Uranus will awaken on January 18, 2021. Since 2018, the planet of revolution and liberation has predominantly been within the zodiac sign of Taurus. It will remain here until July 7, 2025. Then, it will go into Gemini. However, again, it will retrograde and return to Taurus from November 8, 2025 but again leave April 26, 2026 where it will not return for 84 years. Uranus is the planet of transformation, radical change, crisis, and freedom. Whenever it interacts with another planet, shocks and surprises are bound to happen, for better or worse. Even when Uranus causes things to feel chaotic or cause great pain, it always is forcing us to move forward and bring better institutions into creation. Uranus pushes humanity toward its greatest good and to find newfound ways to grow and solve the problems of the collective. When it resides within Taurus for a span of years, the things that Taurus rules will vastly be affected. The things we can expect to see mostly affected are global financial institutions, global currencies, and environmentalism. Expect further developments in these areas for the months to come.
