DECEMBER 2023 ASTROLOGY HOROSCOPE FOR YOUR ZODIAC SIGN

The year of 2023 is now coming to a close. I always find it so sentimental and bittersweet writing horoscopes for the end of each year. They always feel different than the other ones I write because there’s not only a sense of completion taking place, with a sense of reflection and nostalgia, but also a growing excitement about the possibility of what lies ahead. In 2023, we experienced a lot of twists and turns, particularly because of the completion of the Taurus-Scorpio eclipses that echoed since 2021 and the arrival of a new set of eclipses on the Aries-Libra axis. We watched as major planets danced into new realms—Saturn leaving Aquarius behind to move into Pisces, getting a taste of Pluto in Aquarius before backtracking into Capricorn, and of course Jupiter moving from Aries into Taurus. In truth, a lot of the energy we experienced in 2023 will echo into 2024, so I do hope that you liked 2023 because 2024 will carry a lot of those same themes and experiences. Now, turning our attention to the present in December, we will once again have an opportunity to slow down, stop and smell the fragrant candles and tasty feasts, and connect with loved ones. From the moment we begin December, though, we will already feel the profoundly slow vibe, so hopefully you took my advice to tackle everything of importance in November. Mercury retrograde will blanket this entire month—and keep us slow into January—so even if there are cancellations, delays, or a more sluggish flow, don’t stress yourself out. Instead, use this time to reawaken your inner child and enjoy the holiday season. Find out what’s in store for you!

Mighty Jupiter, our Great Benefic, dances into the flower fields of Taurus from May 16, 2023 until May 25, 2024. Because Jupiter brings growth, expansion, luck, and miracles, he will sparkle over all that Taurus rules: wealth, resources, real estate, possessions, pleasure, sensuality, hedonism, and art. All zodiac signs will finally feel as if we are heading toward better years once again, as living in the moment and going our own pace will feel more enjoyable now. We may feel more practical, realistic, and pragmatic about building our lives, ambitions, and relationships. Being forthright, caring, and reliable will also be more pronounced within people’s natures. This is a time when we want to stop and smell the roses, indulge in great food, intimacy, or romance, and appreciate the good life. Artistic talents will be amplified, as we seek beauty in all ways. We will hunger for indulgence and luxury. All markets that Taurus rules will flourish: banking, finance, real estate, cuisine and fine dining, tactical art, beauty industries, design industries, luxury industries, and fashion. On one hand, this will help us to truly feel more aligned and connected to the beauty of life, but for those that get too lost in hedonism, they may find that they indulge too much and sink into a slothful, lazy routine more focused on passion and desire than getting things done. The best thing about Jupiter in Taurus energy is that it can also provide us the quiet optimism we need to preserve patiently to build toward our greatest hopes and dreams personally or professionally. Jupiter will begin his retrograde phase on September 4, 2023 until December 30, 2023. This will cause the energies of Jupiter to turn within, as we make space within ourselves for his blessings to manifest in 2024. In many ways, we will be focusing on growing self-worth, understanding value, and how we can create more wealth and abundance on all levels in our lives.

Prepare for a major turning point to begin on March 7, 2023. Saturn, the mighty planet of karma and life lessons, will soar into the reefs of Pisces until May 24, 2025 and again from September 1, 2025 to February 13, 2026. Important learning curves and karmic transitions will take place in regards to all areas that Pisces rules: spirituality, creativity, psychology, mental health, prescriptions, prisons, the unconscious, and healing. Important information about fear, anxiety, and addictions will emerge in the period to come. Karma will come before us and we will find it is time to heal it and let it go. This will be a tremendous period for releasing anything that is holding us back from ascending to our highest good. False prophets, gurus, and secret societies will fall, as well as a streamlining of mainstream spirituality and religion. There will likely be a major overhaul in regards to the medical, psychological, and prison systems. Secrets hidden and disguised in the past thirty years could be aired out in our lives and on a global scale, too. There will be a great focus on how we rest, “escape reality,” and live in illusions or delusions. The key will be to face the truth rather than running away. Those who do so may suffer great losses and further build toxic karma that will need to be resolved in the future or in lives to come. Saturn awakens from its retrograde phase on November 4, 2023, so pay attention to the days that surrounds this to see what big shifts and news lie ahead of you. Something that has been delayed or forgotten for months will suddenly begin to turn around.

Pluto, planet of death, rebirth, powerful people, large masses of people, returns to Capricorn, where it has been residing since 2008 and will continue to do so until 2024. It takes Pluto 244 years to go around the Sun. Whenever Pluto resides in a constellation, whatever that zodiac sign rules goes through a breakdown phase to make room for new growth. This is very much a “phoenix effect,” whereby what isn’t working is burnt down so that new life can emerge in that place. Structures that no longer serve us are dismantled. In a sense, the Universe is creating a “course correction” in the destiny of humanity. If we understand the process and surrender to it, we can reach empowerment and enlightenment. However, if we resist and hold onto the past, our lives will be filled with tragedy and pain during these times. Everything that Capricorn rules has been going through a period of change: our governments, political structures, those in power, big business, and global economies. This will continue for years to come.

Our goddess planet of beauty and romance, Venus, enchants within one of her favorite places to thrive, the zodiac sign of Libra from November 8, 2023 until December 4, 2023. During this time, our natural charm will be amplified and we will focus on building harmony within our relationships. All negotiations will see ease as we are inclined to bring joy and laughter wherever we go. While we may feel more idealistic about love, our most romantic nature can come forward with the right person. We will feel especially social during this time and more willing to do what it takes to appease those we care for. This is a beautiful time to find the right person if single, but only if we are clear about who will truly mirror us. Love, marriage, and union can help us grow if we open our hearts now. Next, from December 4, 2023 until December 29, 2023, Venus becomes submerged within the depths of Scorpio. During this time, we will yearn for connections that unite our body and soul with another. When it comes to astrological energy that will "color" this time period, we have many factors to pay heed to. This profound and mystical planet will remain in Pisces until 2025 before moving onto new territory. Neptune is the planet of spirituality and transcendence—helping us to see beyond flesh and bone deep into the soul. This powerful energy can be funneled in positive means: bringing you the greatest union of true love with a soulmate or inspiring a brilliant masterpiece that enchants the world. However, it can also cause a darker vibration to emerge within people, that of gaslighting, addictions, and deception. In Pisces, Neptune heightens our intuition. Our cosmic messenger ventures into Capricorn on December 1, 2023, which will make our minds shift into a more methodical and practical perspective. Mars, the planet of passion, sex, and drive, will blaze a trail through the realm of Sagittarius from November 24, 2023 until January 4, 2024. The energy of Mars will radiate especially brightly here, as we are eager for adventure, new horizons, and to conquest the world. Passion and enthusiasm will invigorate us, as we are motivated by our ideals and a thirst for change, spontaneity, and knowledge. Optimism will fill our veins—but we may be more prone to be scattered and lack focus. Staying in a routine will make us feel restless at this time, so we will do everything we can to break out of our cages.

When the Sun plods along into the Earth Sign, Capricorn, on December 21st, we are being encouraged to be realistic and practical. Capricorn doesn’t tend to be an emotional zodiac sign because it is often more focused on ambition, achievement, and the greatest heights we seek to rise to. A Full Moon in Cancer (4 degrees) arrives on December 26, 2023. The energy of this luminary will resonate for two days prior and four days after. This will be a deeply nostalgic time, as we reflect back on everything that has occurred this year. Our feelings will be intensified—not only because it is a Full Moon, but also because Cancer rules our deep emotional stability and security. In fact, as we come to the end of 2023, we have one of the best full moons of the entire year! The full moon will link perfectly with Jupiter, bringing fortune, luxury, blessings, good luck, and a very happy and festive spirit. Also, it links perfectly with Saturn, bringing opportunities for long-term growth and strength personally and professionally. Mercury will be united with Mars, bringing a fiery but exciting social life, but square to Neptune, which could cause us to be a bit too dreamy and uncertain about our progress. Venus will link with Neptune, bringing glamour and romance, but will be clashing with Saturn, which could cause a small sense of distance if we aren't feeling valued and respected, particularly in intimate relationships. Mars will also be at odds with Neptune, so if we are feeling a little exhausted from the holidays, it would be best to temper our energy and not push it. Above all, though, this full moon is delightful, so prepare to end the year on a positive note.

A rather magical month lies ahead of you, Virgo, filled with festive holiday season vibes. However, the first thing I want to point out to you is that your planetary ruler, Mercury, will be slowing down all month once again. While he will officially be retrograde from the 13th until January 1, you could be feeling a little lightheaded and stagnant because of it, as if you can’t get everything done because all the moving pieces in your life aren’t quite moving together.
