Queen Elizabeth II’s birth chart reveals she was meant to rule with strength—and kindness

Queen Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926. This makes her a grounded Taurus Sun with a fiery Leo Moon. Her birth time has been listed online, so we can see that she is a Capricorn Ascendant. When looking at her elemental energies, she has a fair share of all of them, but with a larger amount of Water. This shows that inherently she is a deeply compassionate and emotionally motivated individual, but with Earth, then Fire and Air also being represented, she can balance her energies across each element when needed. Her heart can certainly lead her, but her ability to also understand things from a grounded, logical perspective aids her decision-making. When we look at her modalities, she’s very based in Fixed sign energy, which means that she carries an immeasurable sense of strength and is also highly resistant to change that happens externally. This has allowed her, no matter what, to weather any storm and hold her place. Fixed energy can be seen as stubborn, but it sure is tremendously powerful. In this regard, she has a lot of energy that makes her both the unstoppable force and the immovable object.

Now upon inspection of her birth chart, I first want to draw attention to how prominent she was chosen—quite literally by fate and destiny—to be everything that she has become. This is no ordinary birth chart—it is articulated in such a way that almost feels as if some higher power or force spoke her into existence. Perhaps it was the collective human unconscious, but there is something awe-inspiring about how her natal chart is constructed. First and foremost, her natal Saturn, the planet of legacy and structures, stands in an exact conjunction with her Midheaven—revealing that she was meant to be a long-lasting, nearly eternal figure on the world’s stage. This has brought her tremendous persistence and a calculating strategy to align her ambition with her identity. She is also establishing a long-lasting legacy beyond her, as well. Her North Node, which ties to her destiny in this lifetime, is in her sector of duty and work, showing that this has and always will be her purpose—to fulfill her daily duties as royalty. Yet, her North Node is in the zodiac sign of Cancer, which rules family and heritage, and is also conjunct her Descendant, showing that she is meant to forge profound and powerful partnerships and also work with the public in these capacities while honoring her upbringing. Her Capricorn Ascendant also contains Mars, bringing her a fiery ability to command, as well as Jupiter, gifting her luck and favor as well as respect from authority figures, and also Venus, which brings her grace, beauty and honor.

Yet, when breaking down the nuances in her birth chart, we do see that she also has astrological aspects that further reveal how tied to tradition she is, while being open to breaking the cage if it is something that she has decided needs to. While she may be resistant to change from external forces, she, within herself, is a liberator and visionary. She is unconventional in the attitudes of her forbearers. Yet because of how strongly accented Saturn is in her chart, we, nowadays, may see her as an elder, closely tied to the past.

Is Queen Elizabeth II astrologically compatible with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle?

While entire libraries could be written of Queen Elizabeth II’s relationships and legacy, the most present pop culture one to peer into at this time is her connection with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. This split in the Royal Family made waves in the media and may even lead her to never meet her granddaughter. Queen Elizabeth II is on good terms with other members of the Royal Family, however, even naming Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall as Queen Consort.

Prince Harry was born on September 15, 1984. This makes him a Virgo Sun with a Taurus Moon. Meghan Markle was born on August 4, 1981. This makes her a Leo Sun with a Libra Moon. When initially looking at the rapport between Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Harry, we do see that there is a strong sense of strength and tradition built between their astrological aspects. There is a sense of kindness and compassion, but an overwhelming expectation of duty and maintaining appearances. This is literally revealed in how their planets link. Prince Harry is more reserved than Queen Elizabeth II, and the underlying current of impatience between them certainly grew, as they also don’t see eye-to-eye on everything, especially when one or the other is trying to stifle the other’s emotions or ideas. Yet, because of the overall affinity there, I do think there is a strong sense of love, respect and compassion and that will win out in the end between them. As for Queen Elizabeth II’s rapport with Meghan Markle, this connection is rather sweet, too, in some ways, but is actually a little bit more karmic in nature. Markle’s Sun is in an exact conjunction with the Queen’s Moon, revealing a soul connection. However, there are far too many dynamic clashes between their charts, revealing power struggles and a sense of emotional and intellectual discord. Mars, the planet of war, and Pluto, the planet of domination, clash between them—and then Markle’s Uranus, the planet of the future, is also in the same place as the Queen’s Saturn, which represents her structures. Uranian energy burns things down, and when Saturn is one of the Queen’s strongest planets in her chart, this shows that it’s a true meeting of control versus change, the past clashing with the future. In many ways, they were meant to meet and meant to bring down the established order and recreate it as something altogether new.

Is Queen Elizabeth II astrologically compatible with Prince William and Kate Middleton?

Next up: our other most favorite Royals! Prince William was born on June 21, 1982. This makes him a traditional Cancer Sun with a sensitive Cancer Moon. His birth time is listed online, making him a fiery Sagittarius Ascendant. Kate Middleton was born on January 9, 1982. This makes her a strong Capricorn Sun with a soft Cancer Moon. Her birth time is also listed online, bringing to light that she is a radiant Leo Rising.

When peering into the Queen’s rapport with each of them, we can see a strong sense of union around professional, public and financial goals—showing that in regards to many of their traditions, they see eye-to-eye about the long-term plans for their legacy. The Queen’s Sun is in a perfect alignment with William’s Sun, bringing a strong yet flowing connection, with respect, enjoyment and a nearly telepathic understanding. This grants them the ability to understand that they are much alike while also honoring their differences. Their sense of duty certainly unites them. The Queen’s connection with Middleton is much more jovial and affectionate though, with many planetary alignments favoring support for her Majesty’s work, while she lends a warm yet confident sense of guidance to teach Middleton. This relationship is also quite profound and transformative upon the both of them, but even moreso on the behalf of the Duchess.
