Before I dive into the astrological weather for the month, though, I want to take a moment to thank you for reading my work and supporting me. What is the astrological significance of a Leap Year?
Spoiler alert: there is no astrological significance of a Leap Year. A Leap Year is tied to the Gregorian calendar, which is widely used throughout the entire world at this time. This began use in 1582!
However, when looking at “astrological weather,” we can certainly see the energy, vibe, and frequency we’ll be experiencing around Leap Year this year—February 29, 2024!
To be upfront, this year’s Leap Year Day will have a mixed energy—and unfortunately, a lot of it could be quite somber. On February 28, 2024, there will be many astrological alignments taking place. The sun, ruling our life force, will unite with Mercury, the planet of communication. Initially, this tends to bring a lot of social activity, clear skies, and mental breakthroughs. However, both the sun and Mercury will also conjunct—or unite—with Saturn on this exact day, too. Saturn is the planet of hardship, life lessons, and karma—and when it unites with a planet or luminary, we tend to feel like we’re under a dark cloud. This could make the final days of February feel much more exhausting, disappointing, and dark. Yet, to conquer this energy, we may need to focus on hard work, discipline, and being patient as we build our personal and professional lives. Even challenging astrology can be used to our benefit! If we are feeling cold or isolated, this is a good time to get serious about our goals and find practicality. Being realistic will help us to stand on steady ground. This is a positive time to declutter our lives and be honest with ourselves. Be aware this may not be the best energy for relationships, though—and this energy leaks in on the 27th and could still feel like a heavy cloud on the 29th.
Luckily, though, on the 29th, we have a very fun and sweet energy that could still put us in a good mood and bring luck to our lives! Mercury will dance in a perfect angle—a degree of harmony—with Jupiter, the planet of expansion. When this occurs, we often seek to look at life from a broad, optimistic perspective. Thinking outside of the box, interacting with unique and bright people, and stimulating our minds through entertainment and learning will help us to harness this good energy.
